WHAT IS TIME DISPERSED PROTEIN?
A study performed by Dr Boirie and colleagues at the University of Clermont, in Auvergne, France, investigated the accretion rate of proteins.
Whey was found to be absorbed ultra fast (causing a 68% increase in protein). This was more than double the 31% achieved by casein. Casein “clots” in the stomach and is absorbed at a much slower rate (3 to 4 hours). But while whey showed no significant anti-catabolic (muscle wasting) properties, casein REDUCED whole body protein degradation by 34%.
